He was definitely good with the computer. We had a great laugh when we finally arrived (as he had to wait for us for an hour and did so in the lobby. ![]() He was always kind to me and had a great “uncle” sense of humour. When he went into Harvest Crossing and then the retirement we would text every couple weeks. "Became good friends with Bob and Georgette past few years. He and Georgette always treated me like family." "Our family was close friends with Bob and Georgette for many years and I also worked in tobacco for several years on their farm. Robert was predeceased by his parents Maurice and Maria (nee Elbode) Coppens, sisters Agnes Deroo (2008) and Elza Bolle (2019), and by his son Richard Coppens (1984). and Roxanne (Jeff), and the very proud grandfather of his two grandsons, Alex and Zach. Robert was the beloved husband of Georgette, with whom he shared 60 memorable years of marriage. ![]() He was also proudly computer literate, a fact he made sure everyone was aware of. Robert loved telling jokes to make people laugh, and was a wonderful story teller, taking great delight in sharing tales of his life with friends and family. Like his parents before him, Robert farmed tobacco in the Langton area alongside his wife, for 39 years. ![]() Robert Coppens, Sr., of Georgetown, formerly of Tillsonburg, passed away in his 82nd year.
